PARTS FROM THE ENDING ARE INCLUDED IN THE TEASER FOR THE NEXT GAME SO IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED...HURRY UP AND FINNISH THE GAME SO YOU CAN SEE!!!

    Trailer here: http://na.square-enix.com/ffxiii-2/

FUCK. No way. I'm not excited at all. Why make a sequel to FFXIII? Damn, the story ended up pretty much solid in my opinion. All Square-Enix is going to do is destroy everything they built, just like they did in FFX. I sooo don't want this Final Fantasy to come out T-T

... I just wonder what magic they will come up with now, since there are not l'Cie anymore. Unless Pulse fal'Cie brand them again, which would be pointless in the least, since Pulse doesn't need to fight Cocoon anymore =.=

They'll probably wind up using the same thing like PSICOM and the guardian core used as magic instead of L'cie magic. And for some reason I want to think they'll probably tie it in with the extra episode they made where Lightning was trying to find a way to bring Fang and Vanille out of crystal stasis. >_> I'm definately stoked for it, I just need to finish FFXIII

I liked what happened with X-2 though. So far they've come up with direct sequels to a few Final Fantasy's. Like XII and X.

Yeah they've done a decent job with sequels except for like...Dirge of Cerberus. Square has decided to be evil this year and release everything I want in the same month. (3rd birthday and dissida 012 come out in march. >_<)

Never played that one. But I personally enjoyed X-2, I never got along to finish XIII because I lost all memory last year but I do have faith that Square will deliver.

Plus Lightning looked great in that get-up. I was one of the people who originally wasn't excited about XIII but after playing it I found out I liked it.

So I'll never judge a game that way again. So have some faith in the company.

I KNOW RIGHT? And its not just Square! Nintendo is releasing a bunch of DS games/3DS games in march too. Talk about breaking the bank. >_<

Lucas what a negative attitude! I have to disagree with you on the ending was great the way it was. Cocoon is done with and no one can live there anymore. Also we have the fact that everyone who survived will have to start technology ALL OVER again! They have quite a lot of problems to work out. I think this might give 13 a chance to shine. It got a lot of mixed reviews and they might have decided to give the game another go and expand on it. Bring back more side quests, more missons, more exploring, more free roaming. They say right now that they are using the same battle system but going to expand on it. We might get a better re-vamped version of what we had in 13. This seems like a great opportunity for square to release something great.

I'm skeptical on the purple-haired "bishie" guy. I hope there is no romance between him and Light just because I'm convinced Light is too strong of a character and I'm convinced she likes women for her sexual tastes.

Also Danielle brings up a good-point although I think Fang and Vanille's sacrifice was meant to be that way. That they sacrificed themselves and it can't be undo-able. However who knows!

I know I love it! She looks like a badass gladiator!!!

And same. When it was announced back in 2006-2007 and they had a few screens of Lightning I wasn't that impressed. Especially when the trailers came out. Too many pink-haired characters, I was getting confused on who was who. But when I bought it and played it, I really liked it. It was fast-paced and stuck with getting through the story-line. I didn't need sidequests to enjoy it(even though there are ALOT of side-quests and they are hard too! IDK what people were complaining about) I liked it a lot in summary. I want more!

Yeah in the end everyone seems to think that Fang and Vanille's sacrifice shouldn't be undone but there's probably a small portion that thinks 'well I still miss them' in the fanbase...I have faith that Square will do something great with it and I agree with the whole Lightning shouldn't have a love interest (If she does I ship her with fang though. >_>)

So I'm intrested to see what XIII-2 will even be about.

Oh definitely, I enjoyed Fang and Vanille greatly, but...let me see if I can convey this right...I believe it would demean their gesture, their whole-hearted sacrifice to save Cocoon and the people. Like, their total selflessness of their act.

However even if Square does do something where they are revived, it definitely wouldn't bother me as I'm one of those people who like happy endings where no one dies (I know I'm lame).

I like Lightning as an independent, stand-alone type character. I don't think she needs to fall into the rut other female characters such as Yuna, Rinoa, Tifa, Aeris in the series had...where they were identified WITH Squall, WITH Tidus, WITH Cloud, With Zack.

She doesn't need to be romantically involved with another character to make her a caring, wholesome, strong person. We saw that when she was caring for Hope, playing the older sister role again, teaching him how to fight and being more patient with him. Plus the romantics were saved for Serah and Snow in 13 and I'd rather it not be a subject we need to explore with Light.

I'm also not a fan of the Bishie, "pretty" long-haired Final Fantasy males that frequent some of the FF games (Sephiroth, Genesis, Seymour). I personally don't like that style of design and I rolled my eyes when I saw that guy in the trailer. Hopefully its just a rivalry as it looks to be in the title art and part of the trailer.

But these are just my impressions from a very small teaser.

I'm not making any final decisions on it other than I'm looking forward to it and am happy we get to at least see Lightning again.

I agree it's just awesome to see Light again and that they're doing more with her. I guess they got the message that she's an awesome character. And It honestly seems more like with that character in the new trailer that he'll either be a rival or just someone she fights alongside. It doesn't paint the picture of it being a romantic relationship. I Do love Lightnings new outfit because it reminds me of a mixture of Utena (from revolutionary girl Utena) and Lenneth from Valkyrie Profile.

So we'll just have to kind of wait and see. Though hopefully we'll see more of it in the time we're waiting. And of course we have all her other video game appearances to get more lightning. (Dissidia 012 and of course the fact that you can apparently dress Aya like her in 3rd Birthday.)

Surprised to say the least. I didn't think there even was a big enough fanbase for the game after all the bad reviews.

It did sell over 5-6 million units though overall. They had earlier spoke about a possible sequel and only doing so if it sold well.

Reviewers aren't really trust-worthy regardless. All they do is give the opinions, not everyone has the same opinion.

From what I knew the first one was one of the best..but I'm not too savvy with the FF community so I wouldn't know but elsewhere everyone loved it.

Watched the trailer for the first time. I have to admit - I AM being sickeningly negative about XIII-2. I still believe, though, that XIII ended in the perfect way - in a way few other FFs ended. It's not all *haappy ending*, it's happy, but also sad. It's like the ending in FFX. Happy and sad. I didn't play X-2 really much because my copy got ruined, but from what I could see, X-2 was born to give the genuine happy ending to X. And I don't want a typical ending to XIII. Cocoon was frozen, but they now had Pulse - they'd find out it's not Hell, and they already have the knowledge they need to advance in technology.

And you know what gets me pissed in that trailer? THE FEATHERS. Dammit, Feathers are RINOA'S NOT LIGHTNING'S! LIGHTNING HAS ROSEES. LET RINOA REST IN PEACE. GWAAAAAAAAAAH.

Now I took that from my chest; I'm gonna sleep. Gotta wake up early tomorrow.

    Rinoa's dead? >_> rofl.

and yeah the feathers do remind me of Rinoa but I guess maybe they wanted to do more with it, maybe there will be a more open world this time? With actual People and shops? >_>

    LOL.

Since when did Rinoa lay claim to ALL FEATHERS IN THE WORLD?

    XD

Dude Sephiroth, Genesis, Angel had feathers/wings too. I don't think its one characters theme....

... But it's nice when SE develops a character that's unique, like Rinoa was. No other girl before had had feathers as a theme that would be so... so big. You know, it means a lot of things, her black and white feathers. Divinity, sorcery, confront between goodxevil, purity...

Lightning's design is cool. But I dread they turn her badass and incredible personality into something girly, hyper and sickening. So, first she was a girl who wanted to save her sister and would kill the Devil to do it. Now she's what- a Paladin of some sort that will defend the world from a new cataclysmic event? I don't like the idea of her trying to remove Fand and Vanille from Crystal Stasis.

Nothing has been confirmed as what the story is actually about about. Danielle suggested it as a possible story element that she would try to get them out of their crystal stasis but nothing has actually been hinted towards it nor official sources claiming it as such.

I don't think its so out of left field. In fact, just like you said, she's incredibly driven and would do anything to defend what she loves, including cutting down the gods lording over their planet. I can definitely see her trying to protect Pulse from a terrible event especially since they worked so hard to save Cocoon from crashing down to Pulse. Its definitely possible for her and whoever joins her.

I think I misspoke. I thought that dude with the blue MC hammer pants was Fang because it looked like her outfit and that trailer flipped through screens so quickly. Also who is that douche? T___T I have linked some new gameplay from Kotaku which they got to play at E3. Also surprisingly the text was all in english. O_o

That Noel guy is LAME. IS HE TRYING TO BE SERAH'S LOVE INTEREST? WHAT HAPPENED TO SNOW? SNOW YOUR WOMAN IS GETTING HIT ON BY A SORA KNOCK OFF. XD
